Our Major Project
Our project for the 2017/2018 Rotary year will be an expression of the Rotary Club of St. Andrew’s commitment to peace. Our aim is to complement the peacemaking efforts being pursued by agencies within the formal sector by creating a Peace Garden which will serve as a space to foster constructive dialogue between persons and groups, and ultimately help to reduce incidences of conflict.
WHY HAVE A PEACE GARDEN?
The project is expected to serve as an important part of the solution to challenges facing Jamaica at this time surrounding how persons deal with conflicts that often escalate to disputes with very costly outcomes. Peace gardens help us to consider our immediate environment, nurture growth and healing and provides the environment for people and nature to integrate.
